Through the creation of immersive digital environments and the incorporation of interactive elements, Julia Peasland investigates themes of fantasy, escapism and nostalgia. She uses her love of fantasy as an aesthetic basis for her work and creates fictional worlds that invite the viewer in and establish an opportunity for escapism. Peasland investigates how settings can tell stories without the presence of characters by placing personal symbolic meaning on objects in scenes that change over time.
